I have been a storyteller my entire life. I believe that photographs have the ability to tell stories without words. The need and desire to create has been a central part of who I am from my childhood and this creative spirit drove me to become a photographer. When I was eight years old I found my calling when my aunt gave me my first point and shoot film camera. Instantly I started orchestrating photo-shoots and taking portraits of my family and neighborhood friends. and I haven’t stopped creating visual narratives since. What I have learned is to keep doing what you love to do and believe in it. If you bring everything you’ve got to your work and are driven by passion, it is infectious and will excite and inspire others.
I have had the great fortune to find the work that I’m passionate about and that is the confluence of all the best parts of myself – adventurous, bold, spontaneous, contemplative, and authentic. As a Denver-based wedding photographer, I will bring these attributes to your special occasion and will create a visual narrative of your day that is sophisticated, authentic, candid, and vibrant. With a passion for people, places and pictures, and an instinctive sense of the moment, my goal is to deliver you a meaningful product that is a one-of-a-kind, unique just like you.
My wedding photographs have been described as painterly stories that are natural and illuminating, that seize the moment both in time and feeling. I will emphasize the genuine story and spontaneity of your wedding day while creating portraits that are beautiful, dynamic, vivid, and timeless.
I was formally trained at the Art Institute of Colorado, and it was there that I was able to hone in on my techniques and refine how to make compelling and high-concept photography. After art school, I moved to New York City and worked in the world of high fashion, advertising, and weddings photography, further cultivating my unique fine art style. After spending many years in New York, I moved to Santa Barbara, California, to complete my education at Brooks Institute and worked with world renowned wedding and fashion photographers. These experiences helped shape my wedding photography career. Being back in my home state, as a Denver wedding photographer, I am so grateful to document such beautiful and happy occasions for my clients by capturing their story and generating feelings that will endure.
I’d love to speak with you more about your upcoming wedding! I would be honored to work with you on your joyful day to capture those authentic whimsical moments, preserved in time, that you will cherish forever.
