About Hillary

Hillary Moore has always been a storyteller; early on she recognized photographs had the ability to tell the story without words. This impression of seeing the world eventually led her to becoming a photographer. Her aim is to tell untold stories through developing a strong visual narrative for all of  her subject matter, whether it be a wedding, fashion shoot, or advertising projects.

Driven to create meaningful and visual adventures is at the core of her work. She favors doing projects that are highly conceptual, with the opinion photography is art.  Hillary manifests these principal ideas into developing portraits that are more contemplative and possess a deeper meaning that is contextual to the individual or space she is capturing. With a passion for people, places and pictures, and an instinctive sense of the moment, Hillary brings a unique combination of creative skills and award winning photographic creative vision.

Hillary’s Approach

Hillary creates provocative and high-concept imagery with a unique perspective and voice. The approach she takes in capturing these highly stylized pictorial adventures is directing the talent while allowing a genuine moment evolve naturally. Her goal is for the end result to appear authentic, and spontaneous. Capturing imagery that displays natural motion and candid action are the cornerstone of her work – allowing the narrative to develop as it happens. The visual drama and artistry of her photographs are born out of a keen eye for the many moods of her subject matter. Capturing the passion of the moment and making it a creative expression. Hillary’s style is unmistakable. Her talent for rare captures of amazing light and fleeing moments imbue her portfolio with a sense of the epic, majestic and the bold. Her success derives from the patient single- minded pursuit of all unique moments that generate the magic and energy of the moment. Hillary has worked with and trained under the famed photographer and directors, Peggy Sirota, as well as Marcus Klinko and Indrani.

Hillary has worked with Peggy in a wide range of capacities, one including – behind the scenes video documentation of Peggy working on set. In addition to working with Sirota, she has enjoyed the privilege of working within advertising agencies such as McCann Erickson and Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Hillary is a Colorado native. She pursued higher learning at the Brooks Institute after completing a photography program at Colorado Art Institute. At the Art Institute Hillary graduated top of her class and received the award of best portfolio in her class.  In addition, Hillary received the esteemed award, Workbook Next Generation Top 5 coming in second. A great accomplishment. Hillary currently resides in Colorado with her husband and two sons. She works between Colorado and California, and enjoys taking on other projects around the world, when the opportunity arises.
